Handcrafted Soaps From Sandy OaksThese soaps are handcrafted exclusively for Sandy Oaks by a very gifted soap maker and herbalist. Sandy asked Margaret to develop a recipe adding olive leaf tea (known for its antioxidant properties) to the soap, which is made with olive oil. Unlike commercial soap, handmade soap is not a detergent. The oils used in making our soap are used for their specific properties. Glycerin is a natural bi-product of the soap making process, and is not removed as in commercial soap. Indeed, handcrafted soap is 1/4 glycerin, which is very soothing to the skin. The herbs, flowers, and grains Margaret uses in our soaps were added for their special beneficial qualities to the skin. No coloring is added to the soap, rather, the colors result from the natural ingredients. Each bar is air-dried for 4 weeks, resulting in milder and longer lasting bars of soap.
